Parkinsons Disease Treatment Hyderabad

Home- Services / Neurology / Parkinson's Disease

What is Parkinson's-Disease ?

Parkinson’s disease affects the nerve cells in the brain that fall in dopamine levels of the brain. The symptoms of PD develop gradually. They often start with a slight tremor in one hand and a feeling of stiffness in the body. Parkinson’s disease symptoms include muscle rigidity, tremors, and changes in speech and gait. After diagnosis at Best Neurology Hospital in Hyderabad, treatments can help relieve symptoms, but there is no cure.

In most people, symptoms appear at the age of 60 years or over. However in 5–10 percent of cases they appear earlier. When Parkinson’s disease develops before the age of 50 years, this is called "early onset" Parkinson’s disease.

Early signs include:

Here are some early signs of Parkinson's disease:

  1. Movement: There may be a tremor in the hands.
  2. Coordination: A reduced sense of coordination and balance can cause people to drop items they are holding. They may be more likely to fall.
  3. Gait: The person's posture may change, so that they lean forward slightly, as if they were hurrying. They may also develop a shuffling gait.
  4. Facial expression: This can become fixed, due to changes in the nerves that control facial muscles.
  5. Voice: There may be a tremor in the voice, or the person may speak more softly than before.
  6. Handwriting: This may become more cramped and smaller.
  7. Sense of smell: A loss of sense of smell can be an early sign.
  8. Sleep problems: These are a feature of Parkinson's, and they may be an early sign. Restless legs may contribute to this.

Get the Parkinson's Disease Treatment in Hyderabad if you are having these symptoms.

Common Symptoms:

  1. Tremor or the involuntary and rhythmic movements of the hands, arms, legs and jaw.
  2. Muscle rigidity or stiffness of the limbs – most common in the arms, shoulders or neck.
  3. Gradual loss of spontaneous movement, which often leads to decreased mental skill or reaction time, voice changes, decreased facial expression, etc.
  4. Gradual loss of automatic movement, which may lead to decreased blinking, decreased frequency of swallowing and drooling.
  5. A stooped, flexed posture with bending at the elbows, knees and hips.
  6. Unsteady walk or balance.
  7. Depression or dementia.

Treatments:

Parkinson's disease can't be cured, but medications can help control your symptoms, often dramatically. In some later cases, surgery may be advised by Parkinson Disease Doctors in KPHB colony. some research studies have shown that some lifelong habits may help to reduce the risk.

  1. Turmeric: This spice contains curcumin, an antioxidant ingredient. It may help to prevent the clumping of a protein involved in Parkinson's disease, at least one laboratory study has found.
  2. Flavonoids: Consuming another type of antioxidant — flavonoids — may lower the risk of developing Parkinson's disease, according to research. Flavonoids are present in berries, apples, some vegetables, tea, and red grapes.
  3. Avoiding reheated cooking oils: Scientists have linked toxic chemicals, known as aldehydes, to Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases, and some cancers.
  4. Heating certain oils — such as sunflower oil — to a certain temperature, and then using them again can cause aldehydes to occur in those oils.
  5. Avoiding toxins: Exposure to herbicides, pesticides, and other toxins may increase the risk of neurological diseases such as PD. People should take precautions when using these types of product, for example, by using protective clothing.
